J.S. Bach - Keyboard Concertos: Murray Perahia piano. Whether you're working on taxes, or hustling to study through mid-terms - there is no better music to motivate the sagacious worker than this album. Murray Perahia plays the piano on my particular version, which comprises the D Major, F minor, F Major, and G minor concertos. However, a similar album exists called "Three Keyboard Concertos" featuring piainst AndrĂ¡s Schiff (D minor, A Major, F minor). Either album will please the discerning listener equally.

Mark's Previous Picks: (also, see below for an archive of CD picks)
Amina Figarova - Above the Clouds
New West Guitar Trio - Sleeping Lady.
Wayne Shorter - The Soothsayer
Kenny Burrell & John Coltrane - (album by the same name)
Miles Davis - Bags Groove
Elisabeth Ekornes - sings Edvard Grieg (CD sold at the main studio)

I get a lot of questions regarding practicing recommendations. For beginning students, I recommend 15-20 minutes for 6 days a week. Intermediate students, 25-30 for 6 days a week. Advanced, at least 45-60 minutes each day. Try your best, if you miss a day, simply get back on track. But, this should be your general guideline.

MARK'S MISSION: To make sure each and every student gets the most out of their lesson through a musically enriching and enjoyable experience. And, to ensure that I give the best quality lesson possible - with material drawn from my involvement in the USC Thornton School of Music Master's program; Live concert and international touring; Studio recording; and Fifteen years of proven methodic teaching.
